BAFTA Winners

LA La Land won big at the 2017 BAFTAs – walking away with five gongs at the swanky ceremony on Sunday night

Kate Middleton, Viola Davis and Nicole Kidman led the glamour stakes as the stars hit the red carpet at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Many of the stars on the night stars could not resist using their moment on the EE Bafta podium to talk politics — with many taking a swipe at US President Donald Trump.

Viola Davis – who won Best Supporting Actress for her role in Fences – hit back at him for calling Meryl Streep “overrated”.

Leading Actress winner Emma Stone also used her acceptance speech to make a political statement, calling on the world to “come together”.

Big names in the audience including Meryl and Andrew Garfield  cheered as winners  ditched the traditional thank-you speeches.
