Reported robberies in Swansea - Police update

Appeal for information following this morning's incidents


We've had an update from South Wales Police about reported robberies in Swansea City Centre this morning.

Officers were called to a reported armed robbery on Oxford Street at about ten past nine -  A man was threatened by a male suspect who made off with a cash box.

A man was taken to hospital.

The second incident took place in Londis on  Norfolk Street, just afterwards and a man fled the scene empty handed, while a woman in the vicinity was left uninjured

The force is urging anyone who witnessed either event, or who has further information, to contact them. A statement read:

"Armed officers were deployed to ensure the safety of the public and officers in the area.


"Arrest enquiries are ongoing and anyone who has any information which could assist the investigation, or who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area prior to the incident, is urged to contact 101, or 999 in an emergency, quoting occurrence 1900312232."
