More than 2000 join 'Look for a Book' scheme in less than two days
A book-sharing initiative set up on Saturday evening is taking Swansea by storm.
Around 2 thousand people have now joined the "Look for a Book" Facebook Group which encourages people to hide books across the area for other people to find.
Its hoped the scheme will provide free holiday fun for youngsters as well as fostering a love of reading.
Anyone who wants to get involved can join the Facebook group, share photos where they have hidden books or look at the photos and go out hunting.
Beth Ann McGregor is behind the scheme . She was inspired by a similar project in Cumbria and as a Local Area Coordinator, she understands the value of reading:
"I think its really important to get children reading from a young age. I'm a Local Area Coordinator and my background is with children and families.
"I've always preached how important it is to read to and with children, not just for knowledge and education but also for building self-esteem."
BethAnn explained how to take part:
"People can get involved by having a look on their book shelves, choosing any pre-loved books they are happy to part with, popping them into a re-sealable zip-lock bag and then just going out and hide them in the community"
